What we collect and why

NYLA collects your name, email and reason for joining to review your application. School, grade and interests are optional. We record acknowledgment of this notice and membership terms, application and review dates, account activation and access status. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are not stored with your application.

Storage and access

Applications and account records are stored using Lovable Cloud. Authorized NYLA administrators can review applications and manage access. Members cannot read other applicants’ records. Security checks use a hashed network identifier to limit repeated submissions. No home address, phone number or exact birth date is requested.

Emails and sharing

Your email is used for application updates, activation and account recovery, not automatic newsletter enrollment. Service providers process records and send account emails to operate the membership service. NYLA does not sell your application information.

Retention and deletion requests

Records are retained while NYLA reviews applications and operates membership accounts. Revoking access does not delete the original application. To request correction or deletion of your application or account, contact nylaorganization@gmail.com. NYLA will review the request and any necessary security or legal recordkeeping before deleting records. A fixed retention schedule has not yet been finalized.

Younger applicants

If you are unsure whether you can apply independently, ask a parent or guardian and contact NYLA before submitting. Age-related consent and retention practices require NYLA’s review before public launch; this notice is not a claim of verified legal compliance.
